[Wear Resistant Thermoplastics]

These compounds are common formulations which provide comparative information on the wear properties of this resin and various combinations of additives.

Instead of off-the-shelf solutions, RTP Company routinely develops specialty compounds with a precise combination of properties such as conductivity, flame retardance, structural reinforcement, color, and wear resistance to meet your exact application requirements.

RTP 2800 Series
Olefinic Thermoplastic Elastomer
Compounds

Advantages
• Moderately low cost
• Good chemical and oil resistance
• Compression set resistance

Limitations
• Moderate heat resistance
• Do not accept large amounts of fillers

The olefinic elastomers are a good compromise between price and performance. They have good chemical resistance against water, acids and bases.

When exposed to hydrocarbons such as fuel and oil, they will have good property retention but experience swelling. Service temperature is from -60 to 275 degrees F (-51 to 99 degrees C). Hardness ranges from 35 Shore A to 50 Shore D.
