Filtration Device

Asbestos Analytics of Charleston, South Carolina, is helping to clear the air of hazardous fibers with a filtration device made from an RTP conductive carbon filled thermoplastic.

Asbestos was once popular in insulation materials, but inhalation of asbestos fibers now is recognized as a major health problem.

The filtration device is used to test for dangerous levels of asbestos in schools, hospitals, government and other public buildings. The device collects asbestos and other airborne fibers, which are then microscopically inspected and counted.

A cost effective replacement for metals with no lass of performance, the RTP thermoplastic (ESD C 100) in the device's cassette and cowling dissipates static buildup.

The 25mm cassette with a 50mm cowling is available in mixed esters of cellulose filters and in polycarbonate filters, with or without sealing bands. The filter media are in compliance with NIOSH/OSHA standards.
