Bio-Compatible Colors

RTP Company has developed standard lines of UniColor™ universal masterbatch and precolored resin products for use in medical devices, medical packaging, pharmaceutical applications, and disposable medical products. The 18 standard colors meet ISO 10993-1 bio-compatibility tests for Cytotoxicity (Part 5), Irritation and Delayed Type Hypersensitivity (Part 10), and Systemic Toxicity (Part 11). Custom bio-compatible color solutions are also offered.

Carbon Nanotube (CNT) Compounds

The second generation Iomega REV™ Backup drive, introduced in 2007, is engineered with a customized high-impact RTP 300 Series PC CNT compound specifically engineered for electrical applications. This compound provides a significant cost reduction while maintaining consistent, electrically uniform properties.

RTP Company has improved its nanotube processing techniques and has introduced a new generation of CNT compounds that offer substantial performance improvements over previous CNT compounds. The new CNT compounds are available in multiple resin systems including:

• Polycarbonate (PC)
• Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT)
• Glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate (PETG)
• Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS)
• Polyetherimide (PEI)
• Polyetheretherketone (PEEK)

CNT compounds deliver superior electrical conductivity, eliminate residual voltage (hot spots) and are ideal for applications requiring strict liquid particle count (LPC) standards for cleanliness.
