RTP Company Selected as Trademark Licensee for Precolored Terluran® ABS Resins

WINONA, MINNESOTA, USA — RTP Company, a leader in specialty compounding, recently signed a trademark licensing agreement with BASF to compound colorants into Terluran® ABS resins at its five manufacturing facilities in the United States and to sell these precolored ABS products using the Terluran® tradename in NAFTA countries.

Tim Duncan, RTP's Product Manager for Precolored, anticipates the company will fill a market niche that cannot be efficiently served by BASF. "This agreement is designed to cover small color lots and custom colors, in volumes that generally fall below 40,000 pounds. Our tradition of 5-10 day lead times regardless of order size—combined with the name-brand recognition of Terluran®—makes this a very attractive choice for a wide range of customers."

Terluran® ABS, which is easy to process and offers a high gloss finish, is exceptionally adaptable to precoloring. The resin is consistently light colored, and pigment has minimal effect on its mechanical properties.

Over the last 17 years, RTP Company has built a reputation for expertise in color technology. The compounder has successfully matched more than 40,000 distinct colors and utilizes cutting edge testing and measurement equipment. Fully staffed color labs are located at each of its manufacturing sites. Color research and development is conducted at RTP's corporate headquarters in Winona, Minnesota.
