Compliance Testing and Eco-Labeling
Manufacturers are tapping the resources of the world's workforce for processing, assembly, and design. You need a supplier that consistently produces a single product that is accepted wherever you do business.
Our customer-driven philosophy means we work closely with you to develop material solutions for your application -- in the markets where you want to sell. We stay informed of changing legislation and country-specific requirements. When needed for regulatory (i.e., RoHS and WEEE) and/or voluntary label compliance (i.e., the German Blue Angel Environmental Label or the EU Eco-Label), we can provide you with documentation about the flame retardant system used in your compound.
Eco-Labels were established in Europe to encourage the manufacturing of products with a reduced impact on the environment. They address public concerns about raw material scarcity, shrinking landfill space, and the impact of pollutants on the air and water.
- RoHS & WEEE
RoHS (Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste of Electrial and Electronic Equipment) are two recent complementary European Union initiatives aimed at reducing the use of potentially harmful substances in manufactured goods and ensuring that manufactures of electronic goods provide a closed-loop recycling program for their products. - German Blue Eco Angel
This Label was the world's first eco-label initiative and covers well over 4,000 products (its only exclusion is food and pharmaceuticals) that have positive environmental features. The Mark is entirely voluntary and has increased environmental awareness of both producers and consumers. - The EU Eco-Label
Launched in 1992, the Label is awarded to products that have a reduced impact on the environment. It affects the buying decisions of 340 million consumers in Europe. The strength of this label is the European dimension; once approved by a member state, it can be used throughout the other EU states to eliminate costly and redundant applications. The criteria are seen as benchmarks, and stimulate change even if companies don't apply for the label. - Nordic White Swan
These recommendations set strict environmental requirements in Nordic countries and cover a product's complete life cycle from raw material production to disposal.
