RTP Company develops flame retardant specialty compounds using over 40 different engineering resins. Below are some of the more popular resins and their features:

• Polypropylene
  RTP 100 FR Series — Excellent fatigue endurance and outstanding chemical resistance. Perform well at operating temperatures up to 225 F 107 C. Applications include: wire and cable jacketing, small appliances, outdoor lawn and garden, outdoor grating, support brackets, furniture components, toys, and kitchen tools.


• Nylon
  RTP 200 FR Series — Superb mechanical properties up to 275 F 135 C in continuous use. Mold easily in thin wall sections; good resistance to chemicals. Applications include: electronic/electrical connectors, electrostatic painting applications.


• Polycarbonate
  RTP 300 FR Series — Superior impact strength, high heat resistance, good electrical properties, excellent mechanical properties up to 250 F 121 C. Controlled shrinkage, dimensional stability, thermal stability, good flow, and good surface finish. Applications include: consumer goods, business machines, housings, medical equipment.


• Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene
  RTP 600 FR Series — Continuous use temperatures up to 175 F 79 C. Easy processing, chemical resistance, increased surface hardness, good impact strength, and overall toughness. Good for plating. Applications include: housings for business and medical equipment.


• Polybutylene Terephthalate
  RTP 1000 FR Series — Good dimensional stability, high heat resistance, chemical resistance. Good flow in thin-wall sections, rapid crystallization, low mold temperatures, and fast cycle times make this material economical to mold. Applications include: same as nylon but preferred where moisture absorption is a problem.


• Polycarbonate/ABS Alloy
  RTP 2500 FR Series — Higher HDT's than ABS with better low-temperature impact resistance than PC. Dimensionally stable, easily colored. Applications include: computer and business machine housings, appliances.


• Polycarbonate/Acrylic Alloy
  RTP 1800A FR Series — Higher impact resistance than PC/ABS with the processing ease of acrylic. Excellent flow ideal for thin wall molding. Applications include: portable phone and pager housings, outdoor lighted signs, appliance components, toys, furniture, automotive components, medical diagnostic devices.
