Aramid Fiber Compounds
Aramid Fiber Compounds are self-lubricating to lower the coefficient of friction and extend the life of mating surfaces. Compared to metals, the compounds minimize cost, reduce weight, lower noise, and ensure corrosion resistance. They are ideal for applications where mating surfaces are sensitive to abrasion.
Product Characteristics
- Made with aromatic polyamide fiber that is softer and less abrasive than glass or carbon fiber
- Creep resistant and dimensionally stable
- Eliminates plate-out when molded
Typical Applications
- Gears
- Radial and linear bearings, bushings and slides
- Wear pads
- Pistons and piston/cylinder rings
