Administrative Manager – Canada

RTP Company is a specialty thermoplastics compounder with corporate headquarters located in Winona, MN. We operate twenty production plants in the United States, Europe, Mexico and Asia and have sales offices in major commerce centers around the world.

The Administration Manager in the Canada office is responsible for managing the administrative functions of the office to include customer service, materials management, import-export, logistics, government compliance, and accounting and personnel support.

Essential Duties:

  • Assists in managing and developing local administration processes; ensuring they align with RTP Company policies and procedures
  • Monitors local labor laws and works with corporate human resources to ensure local employment and hiring practices are in compliance and locally managed; handles local administration of employee benefits and aids in employee actions
  • Performs light book keeping and reconciliation of bank accounts and collection from customers
  • Processes GST, HST and other provincial taxes
  • Manages import transactions from other RTP Company sites involving broker relationships on behalf of customers
  • Leads local customer service functions with Canadian customers ensuring quality and service expectations are met
  • Manages off-site warehouse product movements and invoicing
  • Utilizes MRP software for import and invoicing transactions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field preferred
  • Experience with import transactions and Federal and Provincial taxes
  • Strong rational analysis and ability to make decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical knowledge and previous experience with industrial products
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and MRP related software
  • Adept at learning new software
  • Strong ability to understand and manage financial performance from a cost to manufacture standpoint
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Good problem solving abilities
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
  • English language proficiency required; dual language preferred
