Benefits Specialist Position Available – Winona, MN

RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minn., is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. The company has over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. RTP Company’s engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.

We are currently seeking a Benefits Specialist.  The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration of benefits, time and attendance monitoring, and other Human Resources functions within the US. This position necessitates a strong attention to detail and understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the ability to “think outside the box”.

 Essential Duties:

  • Perform daily reviews of time and attendance
  • Provide an extreme level of professionalism and confidentiality to internal and external customers
  • Administer health insurance, flexible spending, 401K, life insurance short-term disability, long term disability, dental, vision for employees
  • Administer tuition reimbursement
  • File workers compensation claims
  • Process COBRA notifications
  • Other duties as assigned


    • A four year college degree (preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration)
    • Previous Human Resource experience
    • Understands the importance of confidentiality
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required
    • Must be capable of multi-tasking and working independently
    • Must be well organized and have a strong attention to detail
    • Prior experience working in a fast paced environment handling multiple assignments simultaneously is required
    • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate courtesy, tact, and confidentiality when dealing with customers (internal and external)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Ability to communicate with people in various positions and levels within the company
    • Ability to demonstrate courtesy, tact, and confidentiality
