RTP Company is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. Headquartered in Winona, Minnesota, we have over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. Our engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.

This position is responsible for answering customer inquiries, accurately processing orders, and communicating information to internal and external customers. Initial responsibilities include supporting customer service staff through order processing and training on product information, customer profiles, and computer system processes. Subsequent responsibilities include assignment of a specific customer base and/or sales territory support.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide customer assistance for product and pricing inquiries and overall support for customers in a timely manner
  • Open and maintain customer account records
  • Accurately process customer orders
  • Communicate information to internal and external customers in a professional manner
  • Work in partnership with a specified group of Sales Engineers to support their customers and the sales goals of each Sales Engineer
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Skills and Abilities

  • Must have the ability to provide exceptional customer service in an office environment and communicate effectively and demonstrate courtesy, tact, and confidentiality when dealing with customers (internal and external)
  • Must be well organized and have a strong attention to detail
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking and working both as a team and independently
  • Must be self-directed and have ability to work independently and with little supervision
  • Must have ability to work with various personalities and remain calm and courteous in all situations
  • Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Must have strong problem solving and problem resolution skills

Education and Experience:

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have previous customer service experience in an office environment
  • Must be proficient with a computer and using email and internet portals
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time as well as look at a computer screen
  • Occasional travel to other locations may be required
