RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minn., is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. The company has over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. RTP Company’s engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.

The Maintenance Manager has the overall supervisory responsibility for the personnel and activities of the maintenance department. Using preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance activities the maintenance department is expected to support production efforts by providing equipment with a high degree of reliability and up time. Additionally, this position is expected to continually promote and develop the skills of every individual in the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe and compliant workplace not only within the department but also by participating in the safety activities of the site
  • Hands on support of trouble shooting and repair of equipment
  • Promote and develop the skills of direct reports
  • Planning and scheduling of work for direct reports
  • Performance and improvement of existing maintenance programs including:
    • preventive maintenance activities
    • vibration analysis program
    • lubrication analysis program
    • ultrasonic program
    • KPI generation and improvement over time
  • Maintaining maintenance software package, Asset Essentials
  • Scheduling, coordinating, and oversight of contract work
  • MRO research, planning, and requisition
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Skills and Abilities

  • Must be capable of multi-tasking and working both as a team and independently
  • Must be well organized and have a strong attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate courtesy, tact, and confidentiality when dealing with customers (internal and external)
  • Must be willing to travel on an as-needed basis

Education and Experience

  • Preferred associate or bachelor’s degree in related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master or Journeyman Electrician License preferred
  • Must have strong mechanical skills
  • Must have experience leading a team
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Occasional travel to other locations may be required
