RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minn., is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. The company has over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. RTP Company’s engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.

This position is responsible for completing repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting emergency maintenance problems on all production lines to include routine maintenance and repair of plastic extruders, blenders, and other related equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots machinery, dismantles equipment, and adjusts, replaces, or repairs defective parts
  • Minimizes equipment downtime and lost production capabilities
  • Performs necessary research of supplies, tools, and parts to complete work orders in a timely manner
  • Helps keep an inventory of parts
  • Assists with the upkeep of records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, etc.
  • Operates forklift when needed
  • Supports the RTP Company quality policy and customer satisfaction mission
  • Follows safety and health guidelines when performing all duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Skills and Abilities

  • Must have experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment in a manufacturing facility
  • Must have ability to follow equipment manuals and drawings to adjust, align, replace, or repair machinery and keep records such as work orders and test and maintenance reports
  • Must have strong PLC and electrical skills
  • Must be skilled with automation programming software
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Excel, Solid Works, and AutoCAD
  • Must have ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Must have ability to work independently and solve problems with little direction
  • Must have a positive attitude, be dependable, be flexible, and have excellent attendance
  • Must present a strong work ethic
  • Must be able to work within established safety procedures
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Education and Experience

  • Two-year degree in Industrial Maintenance, Millwright, or similar preferred; experience working in Industrial Maintenance may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Mechanical and electrical experience preferred; ideal Class “A” Master Electricians License
  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety preferred
  • Forklift and scissor lift experience preferred
  • Welding experience preferred
