RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minn., is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. The company has over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. RTP Company’s engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.

This position coordinates manufacturing related activities including scheduling, warehouse and inventory reporting, and other activities related to the core mission of the site. The position also includes overseeing general administrative and office needs of the facility. Although primarily an administrative position, some activities will require time spent on the floor in full PPE.

  • Facilitate and support production scheduling activities on a daily and weekly basis
  • Coordinate inventory management in the warehouse as well as all ancillary items (supplies, PPE, etc.)
  • Participate in the Safety Committee
  • Assist with coordination of the employee uniform program at the site
  • Coordinate outside contractors for activities such as cleaning, minor office repairs, etc.
  • Interface with various corporate departments (human resources, safety, purchasing, others) and assist as needed
  • Assist with audits in manufacturing for housekeeping, inventory, or other activities
  • Coordinate site business meetings and lunches, customer visits, and employee events, such as the picnic and holiday celebrations
  • Receive visitors and answer the telephone, providing assistance and/or directing inquiries to the appropriate office or person
  • Process the daily mail
  • Order office supplies as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

  • Must have effective communication skills, writing skills, and attention to detail
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking and working independently
  • Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and front office demeanor
  • Willing and able to work in a manufacturing environment to the extent of their job duties
  • Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and have good attendance
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Education and Experience

  • HS degree or GED required; Associate degree preferred
  • Some manufacturing background preferred
  • Administrative background preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Regularly required to sit, perform keyboard data entry, work on and look at a computer screen
  • Regularly walk throughout the facility to coordinate guests and communicate with employees
  • Up to 25% of total time may be spent doing specific activities in a manufacturing environment
  • Occasional travel to other locations may be required (less than 5%)
