RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minn., is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. The company has over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. RTP Company’s engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.

The Production Lead takes direction from the Production and/or Plant Manager and is accountable for providing day-to-day technical direction of an assigned production team.

Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Production Manager, leads production staff in daily activities
  • Administers training for new employees as well as long term employees on the production team
  • Provides feedback to the Production Manager to assist in performance evaluations of staff
  • Projects raw and finished material needs for given time periods
  • Works to minimize product loss and production-related waste
  • Documents work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
  • Assists in the maintenance of equipment by effectively communicating issues or any potential problems
  • Communicates with warehouse support groups to maintain appropriate production schedules
  • Ensures plant is maintained and in accordance with housekeeping policies and guidelines
  • Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Required previous manufacturing experience related to RTP Company production operations
  • Preferred previous supervisor experience
  • Preferred high school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred forklift experience
