RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minn., is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. The company has over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. RTP Company’s engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.
Production Support responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Assists in all aspects concerned with daily operation and requirements of the shipping and receiving department and communicates with customer service representatives concerning materials inbound and outbound.
Responsibilities
- Receives incoming supplies and posts in ERP system
- Delivers received supplies to appropriate employee/department
- Receives materials and packaging supplies into Adonix System
- Assigns a raw material I.D. number when materials arrive
- Generates labels via computer for material identification and insure timely attachment to packages
- Makes copies of receipts and fax or overnight freight to customer when necessary
- When Certificates of Analysis (C of A’s) are required, check to ensure they are available. If they are not available, do not ship them until the C of A is available or until the customer sends a “Waiver”
- Recognizes, retains, and protects confidential information, specifically with customer information pertaining to pricing, formulations, business relationships, and product characteristics
- Stages material to production and moves finished goods to warehouse
- Performs cycle counts and finished goods inventory for customer
- Demonstrate the ability to properly use scanners and lift trucks
- Works with the inventory control technician to investigate root cause of discrepancies to improve overall group performance
- Possesses qualifications and abilities within the scope of his/her own job description
- Attends plant safety meetings
- Follows plant safety rules, policies, and procedures
- Meets requirements to achieve and maintain certifications and accreditations, as they pertain to the job
- Follows instructions of supervisor pertaining to the job
- Demonstrates a proper understanding of bar-coding system
- Maintains housekeeping and inventory integrity standards within their assigned areas
Qualifications
Skills and Abilities
- Computer literate
- English language reading, writing, and speaking skills
- Knowledge of and experience working with general office equipment and employed duties (phones, intercom, typewriter, copier, fax)
- Calculator / adding machine / math skills
- Must be able to communicate with people in various positions and levels within the company
- Creative problem-solving skills

- Effective negotiating and assertiveness skills
- Excellent communication skills for direct contact with customers
- Familiarity with extrusion and or feeder equipment
- Proficient knowledge or willingness to learn the Adonix System

- Ability to learn technical materials for following operating protocol procedures
- Capability of setting priorities and making base level decisions without direct supervision

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma/equivalent
- Extensive customer service experience
- Minimum of one-year previous plant experience in a directly related business preferred
- Prior forklift operation experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

- Wear protective clothing as pertaining to job: eye/face protection, hearing protection, toe protection, hard hats, gloves, respiratory protection, and/or protective clothing
- Ability to lift up to 55lbs. Safely lift, move, stack, or load up to 50 pounds for most of assigned shift
- Properly handle hazardous material, as trained
- Frequent bending, kneeling, crawling, and reaching are required to perform work under, over, and around structures/machinery. Must be able to transport packages, tools, and/or equipment from point to point
- Ability to climb or ascend up to heights/times per shift on the following: Stairs: 50’/24 Straight ladders: 80″/4 Step Ladders: 16″/4
- Safely climb and work atop railcars
