RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minn., is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. The company has over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. RTP Company’s engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.

The Quality Assurance Manager has the overall supervisory responsibility for duties related to the day to day activities in the QA lab including raw material, sample, and finished material approvals. This person has supervisory responsibilities for all QA employees in Winona, MN as well as for the QA managers in the RTP Company Fort Worth, TX, Henderson, KY, Indianapolis, IN, South Boston, VA, and Dayton, NV facilities.

  • Participate in daily approvals as needed
  • Have a working knowledge of test equipment and procedures used in the lab
  • Coordinate the continuous refinement of systems used in the lab
  • Perform and oversee QA service duties such as customer interaction and solving material certification issues
  • Perform specification reviews, both internal and external, as required
  • Project work as assigned by the VP of QA
  • Effectively communicate with Global QA team to support our goals
  • Oversee intern assignments
  • Communicate with Sales Engineers and Sales Management to adapt and meet the changing needs of our products and customers
  • Oversee new lab equipment purchases
  • Work with R&D to keep current with technology and test methods needed for approvals
  • Lead customer tours of the lab
  • Ensure quality objectives are met: on-time shipment, conforming product, and customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate and support the testing needs of internal departments and other RTP Company facilities
Physical/Environmental Demands
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand for long periods of time
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or scientific field or sufficient combination of related education and work experience is required
  • Ability and willingness to work under tight deadlines
