RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minn., is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. The company has over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. RTP Company’s engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.

The Quality Engineer is an entry level position. They will assist in the duties of the site QA Manager including daily QA testing activities, customer quality, and support in the management of the site ISO 9001:2015 registration.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure quality objectives are met: On-time shipment, conforming product, and customer satisfaction
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the test equipment and procedures used in the QC Lab
  • Participate in daily lab activities and approvals as needed
  • Participate in internal/external reject investigations
  • Assist with the continuous refinement of systems used in the lab
  • Assist with specification reviews both internal and external as required
  • Coordinate and respond to any customer related quality issues using appropriate problem solving methods
  • Project work as assigned by the Fort Worth QA Manager and/or Corporate QA Manager
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific field or sufficient combination of related education and work experience
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Overnight and overseas travel may be required on a limited basis
