Human Resources/Admin Assistant Position-Gahanna, OH

RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minn., is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. The company has over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. RTP Company’s engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.

We are currently seeking a Human Resources/Admin Assistant in our Gahanna, OH Facility. The Human Resources/Admin. Assistant is responsible for performing all HR tasks associated with hiring and termination of employee’s for the Gahanna Site. This position will also coordinate all matters associated with Employee Relations and Office Management.  This position necessitates a strong attention to detail and understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the ability to “think outside the box”.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage the recruiting function for hourly positions, including internal and external job postings and placements
  • Conduct new hire orientations
  • Processes all hourly timesheets weekly for payroll processing
  • Assist with managing training documentation
  • Administers terminations with the Site Manager when necessary
  • Participates in Site safety meetings
  • Submits workers compensation claims to the Corporate Safety and Environmental Affairs Manager
  • Manages site uniform contractor
  • Assists with managing the OSHA’s Forms 300 and 300A
  • Coordinates luncheons for customer visits or other events
  • Provide an extreme level of professionalism and confidentiality to internal and external customers
  • Mail Distribution
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking and working independently
  • Must be well organized and have a strong attention to detail
  • Prior experience working in a fast paced environment handling multiple assignments simultaneously is required
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate courtesy, tact, and confidentiality when dealing with customers (internal and external)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to communicate with people in various positions and levels within the company
  • Ability to demonstrate courtesy, tact, and confidentiality
