Human Resources and Administrative Coordinator – Portage, WI

RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minn., is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. The company has over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. RTP Company’s engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.

Job Summary

This position supports site-level human resources needs, including recruiting plant workers, onboarding new hires, and overseeing site timekeeping, as well as overseeing general administrative and office needs of the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the recruiting function for plant positions, including posting, sourcing, interviewing, and coordinating pre-employment testing
  • Organize and conduct new employee orientation, onboarding, and site training programs
  • Administer and assist in entering site timekeeping
  • Assist with benefits communication and actions
  • Partner with the HR Manager to support employee relations needs
  • Ensure proper employee communications on HR related items
  • Maintain employee records and paperwork confidentially
  • Assist as needed in site safety programs and workers compensation claims
  • Oversee the production uniform supply and vendor relationship
  • Coordinate site business meetings and lunches, customer visits, and employee events, such as the picnic and holiday celebrations
  • Receive visitors and answer the telephone, providing assistance and/or directing inquiries to the appropriate office or person
  • Process the daily mail
  • Order office supplies as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Skills and Abilities

  • Must have a broad knowledge of HR policies and employment law and/or be resourceful to know where to find information
  • Must have effective communication skills, writing skills, and attention to detail
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking and working independently
  • Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and front office demeanor
  • Must be able to handle confidential matters with discretion
  • Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and have good attendance
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Education and Experience

  • HS degree or GED required; Associate degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of human resources experience preferred
  • Receptionist/administrative experience preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Regularly required to sit, perform keyboard data entry, work on and look at a computer screen
  • Regularly walk throughout the facility to coordinate guests and communicate with employees
  • Occasional travel to other locations may be required
