Maintenance Materials Coordinator – Winona, MN

RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minn., is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. The company has over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. RTP Company’s engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.

The Maintenance Materials Coordinator has the primary responsibility for maintenance materials coordination activities in maintenance and storeroom functions.

Responsibilities:
  • Drives high service level in support of planned and scheduled maintenance work
  • Generates purchase requisitions for maintenance materials and MRO
  • Adjusts stocking levels up or down when necessary
  • Stages materials for equipment shutdowns and project work
  • Maintains free-issue MRO items
  • Generates tactical reports (i.e., daily stock movement, due-in, past-due, etc.)
  • Generates strategic reports on established metrics (i.e., monthly inventory accuracy, SMOI, etc.)
  • Enforces storeroom policies, procedures, and security
  • Runs inventory cost models to identify overstock and understock conditions
  • Works with maintenance to determine “where used” and criticality information for maintenance and repair materials
  • Identifies obsolete and operationally unreliable materials
  • Assists reliability engineer and maintenance planners with BOM development
  • Directs picking/kitting/staging and review of material kits on a daily basis to ensure the right materials have been picked for the right job
  • Participates in the daily production / maintenance meetings as required
  • Reviews sourcing reports to identify expedited maintenance materials
  • Manages processing part returns to stores
  • Manages receiving activities (opening boxes, checking packing slips, noting discrepancies, etc.)
  • Manages labeling (identifying) inventories and storage locations
  • Administers outbound shipments (vendor returns and repairable spares)
  • Schedules and creates cycle count documents
  • Performs inventory reconciliation activities
  • Rotates stock (first-in-first-out)
  • Performs housekeeping / 5-S activities and attends safety meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Skills, Abilities, and Experience

  • Must demonstrate Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Must demonstrates a working knowledge of company purchasing procedures
  • Must have effective interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Must be efficiency-minded, well organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined
  • Must demonstrate proficiency on the use of the computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Education and Experience:
  • High school degree
  • 2+ years material coordination related experience
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, talk and/or hear.
  • Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally handle (with mechanical equipment) up to 250 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area, such as but not limited to, safety glasses and shoes, respirators, face shield, hearing protection, coveralls, gloves, etc. Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level may be possible. Proper personal safety equipment is to be used while performing this job as pointed out by plant safety procedures.
  • While performing the duties of this job (the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents)
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard
