Maintenance Stockroom Clerk – Winona, MN

RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minn., is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics. The company has over 20 manufacturing plants located in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Singapore and China. RTP Company’s engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.

The Maintenance Stockroom Clerks primary responsibility is assisting the Maintenance Materials Coordinator and helping maintain inventory and storeroom functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive a high service level in support of planned and scheduled maintenance work
  • Enforce storeroom policies, procedures, and security
  • Works with maintenance to determine “where used” and criticality information for maintenance and repair materials
  • Process part returns to stores
  • Complete receiving activities (opening boxes, checking packing slips, noting discrepancies, etc.), shipments to other facilities and/or parts that need to go out for repairs
  • Label (identifying) inventories and storage locations
  • Coordinate outbound shipments (vendor returns and repairable spares)
  • Perform quarterly cycle counts and rotate stock (first-in-first-out)
  • Perform housekeeping / 5-S activities
  • May be required to attend safety meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to drive forklift (will train)

Qualifications
Skills, Abilities, and Experience

  • Must be efficiency-minded, well organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined
  • Must gain proficiency on the use of the computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Past experience/knowledge of mechanical parts desired, willing to learn ( will train the right candidate)

Education and Experience

  • High school degree

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects tools and controls, talk and/or hear
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and handle (with mechanical assistance) up to 75 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities require vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to organize and identify part numbers
  • This position requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by plant safety procedures
  • Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level may be possible
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, risk of electric shock, moving mechanical parts, and non-hazardous chemical agents
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication standard
