Recruiting and Training Manager – Winona, MN

RTP Company is a specialty thermoplastics compounder with corporate headquarters located in Winona, Minnesota. We operate twenty production plants in the United States, Europe, Mexico and Asia and have sales offices in major commerce centers around the world.

We are currently seeking a Recruiting and Training Manager at our headquarters location.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates and manages recruiting solutions to attract key talent into all levels of employment in the organization.
  • Creates and manages training solutions that develop key talent in the organization for improvement performance, engagement, and retention.
  • Recruits managers, professionals, and technical staff to include coordinating position needs, posting positions, interviewing, creating and making job offers, and using current venues and methodology that attracts the right talent.
  • Leads site activity on effective recruitment of production and plant staff and assists in that activity as needed.
  • Evaluates outcomes of recruiting and training activities to ensure they are meeting desired outcomes; driving continuous improvement where needed.
  • Creates and conducts training on needed development topics.
  • Investigates, negotiates, and sets up outside vendor training.
  • Evaluates and sets up and coordinates online training.
  • Manages and tracks ISO-required training.
  • Indirectly supervises and coaches HR administrative staff around the US on recruitment and training initiatives and expectations.
  • Assists in global recruitment and training needs as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

  • Must have exceptional communication skills, writing skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
  • Must be adept at problem-solving and negotiation.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of recruitment and training techniques and systems.
  • Must have familiarity with training software and working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Must be able to positively lead and coach staff.
  • Must demonstrate effective customer service to all those the position serves, including internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to handle confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Must be able to travel 10% to company facilities, with some overnight.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business field and 3+ years related experience, or a combination of education and work experience. 
  • Experience creating and conducting training and hands on employee recruiting required.
  • Knowledge of training software ideal.
  • Supervision of personnel is a plus.
