End-Use Case Study

Connector HoodPositronic Industries of Springfield, MO and RTP Company teamed-up to meet shielding requirements for a connector hood.

The hood and related components are used in conjunction with Subminiature-D connectors to shield against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI). Optional cable clamps provide internal ‘strain relief’ for multiple cables entering the same hood. Blocks may be used in place of the clamps.

The RTP 600 Series (ABS) compound provides shielding from EMI/RFI. The material provides shielding effectiveness of at least 40 dB based on customer needs and verified by RTP Company testing.

Positronic has been in business for 30 years, providing electronic hardware for assorted applications. Since that time, Positronic has evolved into a leading manufacturer of a broad line of professional, industrial and military connectors to international standards.
