Long fiber compounds are known for performance and value. They dramatically increase impact strength over short fiber compounds  without sacrificing flexural modulus.

When applications demand a combination of impact strength and stiffness, choose long fiber compounds (LFC’s) for improved mechanical properties and superior price/performance ratios. They’re an excellent alternative to impact-modified short fiber compounds, which suffer losses in flexural modulus.

RTP Company has long fiber compounding experience in a wide range of resins and fibers, including PA 6, 6/6, 6/10, 6/12; PP; PPA, PC, PEEK™, PEI, PES and RTPU. Glass, stainless steel, and aramid fibers are incorporated continuously through the length of the pellet, resulting in molded parts that are tough, yet lightweight.

LFC’s have higher strength to weight ratios than many metals. When replacing diecast metal, these compounds can lower finished part costs, reduce part weight, eliminate secondary assembly steps, and improve corrosion resistance.
